Kibale Forest National Park is widely regarded as the primate capital of East Africa. Its lush tropical forest harbours 13 primate species, including a famously habituated population of chimpanzees, alongside red colobus, L’Hoest’s and grey-cheeked mangabey monkeys.
Chimpanzee Tracking
The headline experience is tracking our closest living relatives through the forest. Listening to a troop hoot and drum before catching sight of them feeding and grooming overhead is a profound highlight of any Uganda safari.
The Bigodi Wetland
Bordering the park, the community-run Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary offers a gentle, largely flat boardwalk trail rich in birds and primates — an ideal option for travellers seeking a less strenuous nature walk.
